Bitcoin Pizza Day was never about the regrets or the expensive pizza. 🍕

It was one of the first real proofs that Bitcoin could actually work as money.

Last Friday, Accra joined cities around the world to celebrate that history. 🍕🇬🇭

Builders, students, traders, developers, first-timers all in one room talking Bitcoin, adoption, infrastructure, and Africa’s future.

Last Friday, the Accra hub turned into a pizza shop.

Bitcoin Pizza Day in Ghana, hosted by @Pizza_DAO at the @ayahq_ Builder Hub. 🍕🇬🇭

15 years ago, Laszlo Hanyecz spent 10,000 BTC on two pizzas the first known public Bitcoin transaction.

Today that’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars. But the more interesting question isn’t what it’s worth now. It’s where Bitcoin is actually being used across Africa in 2026.

The room: founders, developers, students, traders, newcomers. Builders who’ve been onchain since 2017 sitting next to first-time attendees who’d never sent a transaction.
Real conversations about adoption, infrastructure, and what Ghana’s crypto scene looks like now versus 5 years ago.

This is the kind of moment the hub exists for.
Not the polished tech event. The actual community gathering where the next idea, the next collaboration, the next builder finds their people.
