I did not take this lightly, and I never will. Behind today's signature: countless hours of research, learning trips, long conversations with the President to align this with his policies and vision, discussions with colleagues and experts, and hard thinking about the real consequences of this and what it will really mean for Maldives — and one conviction: Maldivians deserve far more from the economic value our natural beauty creates than they have ever received.
This is designed to achieve President Dr. Muizzu's vision for the Maldives: a high-income country by 2040.
I pray to the Almighty to make this a success. 🇲🇻
Today, we completed repayment of the $150 million borrowed through State Bank of India in 2019, settling the final $50 million instalment.
Under the leadership of President Dr. @MMuizzu, our Government continues to manage debt responsibly through advance planning and regular contributions to the Sovereign Development Fund. Arrangements for uninterrupted imports of fuel, staple foods and medicines remain fully secured.

This is kandoofa residence. When you have built in day beds like this shouldn’t the window open height be measured from the bench finish level?
This could be risky especially for kids.
This is a good step forward and eventually it should be 100% forex exchanged at banks.

@MohamedNasheed Nasheed is paid by Indian govt. to promote and implement this program which is part of a broader and long term strategy to allow Indian nationals into Maldivian domestic politics - much like how india controls Mauritius.
⚠️ Disturbing animal cruelty warning.
This happened in the Maldives. A Sting ray was pulled out of the water & appears to have someone’s name scratched into its body while it was being held down. Whether it was done with a shell or another sharp object, deliberately injuring a wild animal for entertainment or social media is completely unacceptable.
@mohamedfiraq There’s a lot of resort development in the Red Sea which is significantly closer than Maldives for most westerners and it never rains there.
BoduBadhalu is not about Maldives.
BoduBadhalu is not about reform.
BoduBadhalu is not about principles.
BoduBadhalu is about missed opportunities for Canary ge family.
BoduBadhalu is about lost opportunities for @MohamedNasheed and @evattey
Why are we fighting for their wealthy families when our own families are barely making ends meet?
After the 2023 election, @MohamedNasheed worked day & night to get Muizzu’s approval to secure the Foreign Minister’s post for @evattey.
When it became 100% clear for him that Muizzu would not hand Eva a ministry, they turned around and joined @MDPSecretariat with the help of Fayyaz.
@HajjaUaan They know someone will record and post online and a bunch of gullible people will be deceieved into thinking they are bros.
If not for Anni, Ibu Solih will be the president today. Does anyone remeber 'The Democrats' now?
Dear Sir @lucasjalyl
This ain't @MohamedNasheed's personal, household thing that he must personally finish. It's a collective struggle of all of us.
He even messed up & let Muizzu win after confusing 15k people. We are angry & unhappy, but let's close that chapter.
Our youth is energetic & fully prepared to carry this forward.
@MohamedNasheed is almost 60. He should be ashamed to run against young leaders instead of stepping back as a respected elder statesman & people like @MickailNaseem
This is completely due to the fault and serious mismanagement of WAMCO. There should be at least three layers of protective netting covering the garbage loading and transfer area in Hulhumalé to prevent garbage from spreading into the sea and surrounding areas.
Around 80 % of the garbage washing onto the beach and lagoon is coming from the WAMCO location itself, while the remaining waste is from boats anchored around Hulhumale. This is not something that can continue to be ignored.
The Maldives promotes itself to the world as an environmentally sensitive destination, yet basic waste management standards are still not being properly enforced. If proper monitoring, containment systems, and operational controls were in place, this level of garbage would not happen.
Authorities and relevant agencies must take this issue seriously and act immediately before even more damage is caused to the environment, marine life, and the image of the country.
@WAMCOmv@hdcmaldives@TheEconomistMV
@mohamedfiraq Sustainability doesn’t mean no damage to environment at all, we should set limits and guidelines for development that is in the best interests of all 3 dimensions.
