Flattered @propellerites love Wimbart-levels of black excellence -they keep plundering @Wimbart via v aggressive recruiters. Also impressed at their commitment to DE&I. Wonder if they could hire from ethnic minority backgrounds WITHOUT effing over a black-run biz in the process🖤
@mattkandela@LeGrove Watching him yesterday, one thing that struck me was how much bigger he was than most others. Hes definitely got a presence, ala Tomiyasu. Would love to see him go on loan to a championship club this season and then challenge Tomi the next.
@LeGrove The Raph pursuit makes me think Arteta wants someone electric, a difference maker, but also someone with good experience to challenge Saka. For that reason I don’t see a Gakpo here, I’d see someone 23/24+ and wouldn’t be surprised if we save this buy for January.
@LeGrove There’s been two chapters of Edu so far:
Chapter 1: A DoF with clear mandate from the contacts book approach of Raul. Outcome: Weird deals.
Chapter 2: stripped back mandate with Arteta’s promotion and more checks and balances in place now.
Outcome: a clear strategy so far
@LeGrove Good and fair analysis. The thing a lot of fans gloss over is that the Arteta years have needed to be ‘root and branch’ in terms of change, and if nothing else he’s the only one that’s had the courage of his convictions to start what should’ve happened years ago.
@meetreks@LeGrove Same. A CM feels like a must this January irrespective of AMN. The other challenge we’ll have (medium term) is our very own Noughties West Ham moment. A group of talented young players who could all go onto outrageous levels but they couldn’t resist the overtures. Can we? 🤞
