@FacebookAIslop Good read in fairness but it’s a lot more sinister than people believe. What’s a few likes, it’s free, but what about other falsehoods shared? They could definitely change a narrative. Keep exposing. Funny or sinister
@RoyGrinwis The whole ‘machine’ wants you to believe different to what your eyes have seen or your ears heard. Would never have believed it from the former leaders of the free world
@NodNolan Keogh’s ego never aligns with sense. There was no reason to even contemplate this. It caused traffic carnage and lowered takings at pop-in type shops. He’ll rework it have no doubt. Stop meddling and just do standard ‘council stuff’ like empty the bins! That’s what I pay for
I’m a long time away from twitter (pre musk) & while I was away I can no longer seem to look at stuff (of general interest, currently tariffs etc NOT my follower/d posts) that is less than generally 18 hours/1 day old. Am I missing something??
So… trump (the bully) just lost and now he’s stopped the tariffs on the other kids in the playground for 90 days to gang up on china. No Donald, you’re being a cunt!
Does anyone else switch off when they say “x has told Fox News”. I know people have trouble with the BBC. But really, the trump administration speak to no one else. Literally no one. It’s an echo chamber like X
Trump blames countries for ‘ripping the US off’. He does know it’s the likes of Walmart, Home Depot & US manufacturing & assembly that have done it doesn’t he? What are countries supposed to do? Turn down business? Offer tariffs voluntarily? It’s looking like a con, not a deal
@Katie_Lam_MP That’s a difficult listen but fairplay. Calling out just what it is and who it is. If there’s not a statutory national enquiry it’s a disgrace
@EdKrassen …& with all that additional cost. Walmart will a) still buy the wrench cheaper in china than the US (if anyone is still drop forging in the US??) b) There will be no production to keep up with the volume c) They will not want to lose the Chinese supplier for a 4-year period
@cfishman Good thread. They should look closer to home. Walmart will try every way to cut costs. That has meant buyers telling domestic manufacturers “you’re kidding, I can get that for 35c in China” enjoy the $2,000 dollar iPhone made in America! We’ll have the $1299 one made in China
@quivertweets@joncoopertweets I honestly worry that most Americans actually believe the tariffs are paid by the country they apply too. These are paid by your economy (businesses) on entry to US ports and either absorbed by the supplier (less corporation tax) or passed in higher prices to American consumers
@sharrond62 It happened for years and is much better than spam type advertising. Go into your phone settings and find your browser ‘app’ and turn off access to your microphone. Simples
@ProudAFAmerican I’ve got a New England Road Trip organised late Sept/Oct for 3 weeks. Trying to cost out cancellation as just don’t feel like I want to spend my ‘hard earned’ to be called a ‘freeloader’. If there’s one thing the British really value is politeness & class. Need I say more?
To encourage people to work from long-term sick or benefits, have an income tax amnesty for a period. Say 0% year 1, 10% year 2 and 15% year 3. We immediately tax people fully so stop paying benefits AND expect full tax take. Then assess regularly & pay more to those in real need
@Boldyboy1975 Unfortunately that’s the polar opposite of the truth. ‘The West’ and Russia signed two Minsk agreements to disassemble the old USSR nuclear arsenal held and operable in Ukraine in return for security guarantees it would be protected from aggression. We’ve all done well there?
