If you don't spend hours and hours combing the internet for new music because you actually enjoy it, I'm not sure how you can be a good A&R.
End Rant.
Had to take a moment to realize how much better I had to get just to get to this point.
I grossly underestimated the amount of work and skill it would take.
A great reminder of how much more I'll have to do to level up. So no complaints from here on out.
Artists who create a culture around them are leading the way. More than ever today you have people who are fans of the artists, more than the genres that they are in.
I always look for one thing that I could improve on in after every session. There's always a common thread of how artist write and create their records. I try to find that thread to see where it leads.
Look into the lifestlye that you'll have to incorporate to achieve the thing you're looking to do. That'll really let you know what type of time you gotta be on.

The Drake, Cole, and Kendrick debates are the exact reasons why a lot of us music creatives don't involve ourselves in those discussions. Love making music for the people, but boy do I hate a lot of these 'hot takes'.
You have no idea how much you can do with just one song.
Lyrics, acapellas, the beat, interpolations, DJ mixes, acoustic, etc.
You're limiting yourself and not thinking big enough.
Today I had a tech issue in the studio that cost me 11 hours to fix. I spent the whole day smiling trying to figure it out.
This is what we mean by loving the process.
