I know from experience that the local cops absolutely will not come out if called for fireworks.

@NiaMariae That wasn't too far from my take. I didn't like that they wandered so far from the source material, and I felt like every character was miscast. I still think Jamie Lee Curtis as Tanis was the only good choice they made, but like you I wish they wrote the character better.
