A lantern glow comes back around—like it's keeping score. 🌇. There's a calm that only comes after you've lived awhile.

A 29-year-old in Lisbon edits 11 weddings a month for $9,400 on a desk the size of a pizza box.

The whole studio is 1 Mac mini and 3 aluminum blocks from ORICO.

They stack under the Mac like Lego. Same silver, same footprint, same rounded corners. It looks like Apple made it.

Block 1 has SD and TF slots, USB-A, USB-C and a headphone jack.

Block 2 is the same again, with a power button.

Block 3 is the tall one, and it holds the drives. Every raw file stays in that block until the client signs off.

Flip the stack over and there's a power strip built into the base. 1 cable goes into the wall and everything else runs off it.

No tower, no drive enclosures, no hub hanging off a cable.

Her old setup was a MacBook, 4 external drives and a USB hub that dropped the connection mid-export. She lost 2 days of color grading in March 2025. She says the client never found out.

Now it goes like this:

Friday, a second shooter mails her 3 SD cards.
Saturday, 9 AM, the cards go straight into the front of the stack.
She cuts with a DaVinci Speed Editor, one hand on the jog wheel.
By Sunday night the highlight reel is delivered.
She works for 3 studios in 2 countries and has never met 2 of them.
Each edit pays $850. The whole setup cost her less than 1 wedding.
Her clients think she runs a post-production house. It's 1 Mac mini with 3 blocks stacked under it.

Lately, the field holds still. 🌳. A little solitude can be honest.

Rain cuts through—quiet enough to hear yourself. 🌿🌲. Some memories come back with the weather.
