@OPSenheimer@travisb388 I mean... he was supposed to be a strong-armed, heavy-footed slugger.
He is turning into a weak-armed, fleet-footed, Punch-and-Judy hitter.
That is quite the unexpected transformation!
@DoobieJC@TigersJUK I love it when you refute someone with logic... they then curse you... call you an idiot and block you... instead of trying to refute the logic.
@DoobieJC@TigersJUK he threw 94 pitches... the number of innings is irrelevant.
His average FB velocity was down about 1.5MPH, and he only generated 8 whiffs.
He had a nice outing... but he is still coming back from a shoulder issue.
@ThurowTrent@TigersJUK sure... maybe... but maybe they want to keep him stretched out while monitoring his shoulder and allowing him to build back some velocity.
@FearTheTork He's not slotting ahead of Skubal, Valdez or Mize....
I am guessing they aren't going to slot him ahead of Velander.
Montero has consistently pitched well as a starter.
Flaherty is making $22M, and they aren't going to eat that in June.
Melton is coming off a shoulder injury
My guess
Melton goes to the pen, or Toledo (to build some arm strength)
Montero gets stacked behind either Verlander and/or Skubal, maybe both. I suspect Verlander will only get 4 or 5 innings for a few weeks, so they will want a long inning guy behind him
Flaherty = thin ice
Tigers could have seven starters in about a week or so, which makes it difficult to predict future matchups until we know how they're going to sort things out.
It's why I wouldn't count on Verlander pitching on June 9 until/unless it is officially announced. They certainly have the wiggle room for another rehab start, especially with Skubal and potentially Mize back for the Cleveland series.
(home vs. Twins)
June 9 -- Melton or Verlander
June 10 -- Melton or Verlander or Valdez
June 11 -- Valdez or Montero
(at Cleveland)
June 12 -- Montero or Flaherty or Skubal
June 13 -- Flaherty or Skubal
June 14 -- Flaherty or Mize or Melton or Verlander
@CynthiaLElliott@SenSanders LOL!!!
If you were worried about "Soros," You'd realize that this is **EXACTLY** the thing to prevent people like "Soros" from having undue influence in politics!!

@confusion_reign Has there ever been a player whose narrative has flipped more than Keith?
He was supposed to be a heavy footed, strong arm power hitter who would hit for a decent average.
But apparently he is a fleet-footed, weak-armed punch-and-Judy hitter
@BamaStephen@factpostnews@factcheckyou1 I never fully agreed with every president but I have respected all of them.. or at least mostly (Clinton being the most tenuous) until Trump.
@BamaStephen@factpostnews@factcheckyou1 I was never a huge fan of Reagan; I strongly disliked his "trickle-down" supply-side economics
However, I knew he had principles. He genuinely loved our country and was doing the things he felt were right
I feel that has been true for all of the presidents in my life, until now
@confusion_reign I mean KM arc has been nearly straight up… while GH has hit some rough patches.
But….
But GH put up a 9 WA4 during his age 22 season.
Maybe GH regains some command of strike zone….
But maybe KM never develops average power.
@KwanDislike@confusion_reign lol… is this supposed to be a diss?
Read what I wrote… lol
When I posted this… in early 2025(!!!) GH was coming off a season where he had a WAR of 9.1.
So go ahead and repost this when either MC or KM have a season above a 9 WAR
It's Tarik Skubal's trade deadline. Get ready for the rumor onslaught. And also, as Ken writes...
"The griping from rival executives about dealing with Scott Harris, the Tigers’ notoriously exacting president of baseball operations, would be as entertaining as the Skubal sweepstakes themselves."
@IYKbaseball@aaronemerson09 I don't think you should give up.... but he was/is a seasoned college pitcher.... he is playing down when he is at Lakeland.
A couple of bad starts is one thing... but unless he is injured, he needs to right the ship.
I mean... even at the most common sense level....
How did FARMERS think that electing a NEW YORK REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER was going to be good for them?
Seriously... have they ever watched a movie? A TV show? A Hallmark Christmas Special?
Fox: It could get worse. Chapter 12 farm bankruptcies surged 46% last year, and the agency forecasts sector-wide debt to surge to a record $624.7 billion this year.
