This weekend, the Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program supports will be reduced by half. Lingering effects of Omicron on cancellations & restrictions still in place at the border leaves many of Canada’s #HardestHit businesses at risk. We need continued support. #StayWithUs
We are far from “business as usual”. Tourism-related businesses need support. We need the government to #HaveOurBack until we recover.

Support programs are ending in May, but tourism-related businesses are still struggling. We need the government to #HaveOurBack until we recover.

Borders are reopening but tourism-related businesses are still struggling, and the government just cut support. We need them to #HaveOurBack until we recover.

Thank you @adamchamb for speaking with @hotelassoc today to discuss what Canada's hotel sector needs to build back and how to position the travel economy for growth. #StayWithUs
Land Border Duty Free stores continue to experience the exact same issues. Promise of the border opening does not mean forgetting about us now - IN THIS TOGETHER! @JustinTrudeau@HardestHitCA@marcomendicino
International visitors spend 5x as much and stay 7x as long. Our federal government needs to shift to a positive travel narrative to encourage visitors to once again experience what this great country has to offer! #CdnPoli#OnTheBrink
The government has always said it would have the back of #hardesthit businesses, yet supports are winding down, just as the exhibition industry is beginning to reopen. As a result our sector is at risk. #onthebrink#staywithus https://t.co/1GyySJ3GDz
National | The Coalition is calling on the Government of Canada to maintain and extend the THRP support program and dedicate resources to a national labour strategy to build the sector back. #HardestHit#StayWithUs

As of tomorrow, Covid-19 restrictions will be over in Mb. It’s the same to the south. We continue to need a Covid test to get across our shared border however. @JustinTrudeau@cafreeland@jyduclos#HardestHit https://t.co/v71ygtgnNq
If you are a hotel, a tourism or events-based business, or a supplier to the industry, please support our campaign. We need Government action to keep our sector alive until the Summer, and we need a re-open plan for our border. #hardesthit#OntheBrink 👉 https://t.co/a7HenOk5A4
The THRP is being cut in half after Omicron delayed our recovery and before the border has fully re-opened.
Thank you to the @NDP for standing up for our struggling industry. #OnTheBrink
Just to be clear, tourism has not recovered in Canada. Int'l arrivals are still down 86%. Could your business survive down 86% for 2 years? Extension of the Tourism & Hospitality Program is needed. @cafreeland@JustinTrudeau@R_Boissonnault#hardesthit#tourismcounts
THRP was designed as a survival package to preserve thousands of tourism, hotels & events businesses. Since then the industry has suffered another major blow with Omicron-related restrictions, wiping out most winter & spring travel activity, yet the program has not been adjusted.
The Coalition of the Hardest Hit Businesses, and the 120+ organizations we represent, are deeply disappointed after the 50% cut in Tourism and Hospitality Recovery Program subsidies over the weekend. #OntheBrink#HardestHit
