.@amnesty and @HRW have documented the ethnic cleansing campaign in Western #Tigray in our new report "We Will Erase You From This Land". We are posting threads about each period we have documented.
This thread looks at the current situation in the area.
A @ucdavis professor Tilahun Yilma says in @ebczena “Cancer is treated with radiation & chemicals. Cuz if even one cell survives, it will replicate & destroy [the host]. Weyane is a cancer. We need to have a program to systematically eradicate them, making sure no one remains”
Concerns and worries couldn’t save our families, friends, and millions of Tigrians. We lost everything while the international community is watching silently.
This is beyond Rwandan genocide.
The U.S. is gravely concerned the unconfirmed reports of mass detentions, killings, and forced expulsions of ethnic Tigrayans by Amhara security forces. We call on all armed actors in Ethiopia to renounce and end violence against civilians. https://t.co/TLuTIzyr0e
While @POTUS' concern about exacerbating the conflict in Tigray is understood, his concern is being exploited by @PMEthiopia. The world is watching as Tigrayans are being targeted for extermination because of their ethnicity. The time for decisive US action is long overdue.
@DrMahmoudRefaat @IntlCrimCourt Where’s the international community while UAE is supporting the genocide in Tigray?? UAE must stop destabilizing the horned Africa!
