I tend to balance drama with goofy shit, I like to kill a beloved character about halfway through, Moogles have been known to make appearances, etc.

I tend to start my campaigns very linear at the low levels and then have the world open up. I usually give the PCs a cool vehicle at some point.

There's usually an early "Disc 1" villain that eventually gets defeated to reveal the real villain.
