We've been busy again! In between the rain, Mike harvested some lovely cauliflower. There's also a lot of maintenance work to be done so Jon and Mike dug out masses of bind weed to prepare the ground. They also learned about apple tree pruning from our garden leader, Ruth.
Hello on this blustery, autumn day! The seasons have well and truly changed but it's still all go at Harmony Gardens - when is it not?! π We thought you might like to see some of the goji berries, figs and rosehips we collected. Don't they look delicious?!
We would like to say a HUGE thank you to @Wickes for providing us with materials (as part of their community programme) to build a new water catchment system. We are so grateful!
Equally HUGE thanks to our wonderful volunteer, Jon, who built the system. We appreciate you!
Here's what we've been up to this week! We had a BBQ, because why not?! Also, our volunteer, Mike, burnt some wood left over from demolishing the old shed and Jon gave the longer pieces of wood a karate kick π before they went into the fire. Mike also planted some kale out.
Hello! We just wanted to share this picture and congratulate our volunteer, Vikki (seen here with some of our other volunteers, Jon and Mike) on receiving her gardening skills certificate!
Another great week at Harmony Gardens! Our lovely volunteer, Chen, has been busy preparing beds, planting garlic and pruning the jasmine. There's always something to do! π
Have you ever smelt comfrey fertiliser? If not, you're in for a treat! π π· It might not be pleasant to human noses but the plants love it. This week, we harvested our comfrey leaves and made four buckets of fertiliser!
We thought you might like to see our figs, aubergine plants and the seeds we're saving! To find out more about our volunteer and art sessions please email [email protected] π
We're grateful to have all our wonderful volunteers who take such great care of the gardens. Here are some pictures to show you what they've been up to.
If you want to come down and join us, sessions are every Tuesday and Friday from 12pm-5pm,
Come down! We'd love to see you!
