Woodlands School, the Local Authority and the NEU remain committed to ongoing engagement and cooperation, and to maintaining a professional and respectful dialogue as work continues to resolve outstanding issues and strengthen working relationships.
Following a formal mediation meeting between Woodlands School and the National Education Union (NEU), all parties are pleased to confirm that the discussions were constructive and positive.
As part of the agreed next steps, the Headteacher of Woodlands School will be writing to Unison, following a request from the NEU, to invite a meeting to actively engage in discussion regarding support staff pay.

Members at Woodlands are out on their 9th day of strike action today. The extended action is caused by the employer's unwillingness to discuss the issues affecting support staff, who are the majority of the school.

🚨 Performance related pay, including teachers being held back from the UPR for years and told they're not good enough to apply
🚨 LSAs being taken away from the children they support for totally inadequate "acting up" pay
🚨 Subject leads with no TLR
🚨 No SEN allowance for support staff on newer contracts
🚨 Management style with no accountability
