Last year was a busy one for the team. Let’s see what this year has in store for us. The first call out of 2024 was received just over 4 hours after everyone saw the New Year in.
*** Call Out 01/2024 *** Team called out by @NorthYorksFire at 04:38 to reports of a boat adrift by Millennium Bridge in York. York FRS managed to secure the casualty vessel as we were deploying our flood team to the incident. Team stood down en-route.
The team are delighted to have moved into a new base, whilst were not ready to share details just yet we're looking for help to kit out new home. Can you help?
Over the weekend five of our volunteers completed their Flood Rescue Boat Operators refresher course at Anglesea. The water conditions at Cymyran Straight and Stanley Embankment are a real test of our team members skills and the capabilities of our boats.

Our volunteers were called out on Friday to assist North Yorkshire Police in the search for Leah. Sadly this afternoon police officers recoved a body from the River Ouse in York. Our thoughts are with the family and everyone else involved.

Some of our Flood Rescue team took advantage of the higher than normal river levels in York to get some CPD / training completed.
We had a wading team out and about practicing different wading techniques, self rescue and looking at hydrology in an unban environment.
*** Call Out 37/2022 update ***
Team called out by @NYorksPolice to a broken down boat in the vicinity of A64 bridge. We worked with @NorthYorksFire York boat crew to get the casualty boat to a safe location.
A big thank you to @yorkrescueboat for rescuing our Nutcracker during a training exercise last night. Cyril is currently drying out and will be back in place as soon as possible.

*** Call Out 31/2022 *** The team were called out by @NYorksPolice & @NorthYorksFire at 14:41 this afternoon to an incide in the centre of York. We worked alongside FRS, Police and @YorksAmbulance to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. Team stood down at 16:55.
