Chair of the NYS Assembly Labor Committee. Proudly representing the 138th District (Rochester, Henrietta, Riga, & Chili) in the Finger Lakes Region of NY π³οΈβπ
Today I joined @LifespanROC to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. Our seniors deserve to spend their elder years with dignity - free from exploitation and abuse. Proud to have secured $250k in the state budget for Lifespan's elder abuse and anti-scam programs.
127 years since the Frederick Douglass Monument was dedicated in Rochester β his call for justice, freedom, and equality is as urgent as ever. Proud to join today's wreath laying ceremony with the Friends of Frederick Douglass.
Proud to stand w/ the ROC Majority Delegation as we delivered the good news: the '27 NYS budget brings real, lasting investments. From POWER Rebate checks putting $ back in families' pockets, to protecting our immigrant neighbors β this delegation works together and delivers.
Today @CDRNYS in Rochester unveiled their Pride Banners, which are proudly displayed on the outside of their building to exemplify the joy, strength, and resilience of people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ community. Thank you, CDR, for being such a loud and proud advocate!
NY is facing a mental health workforce crisis-and federal loan policy is making it worse. Cutting access to graduate education for social workers is a barrier to care for millions of New Yorkers. Link to the piece that I wrote on this with @DavilaAssembly

VICTORY: The Remedial Construction of NY Labor Law Act (S9330) has passed the Senate! Huge thanks to sponsor @jessicaramosqns, and to @HarryBBronson for passing it in the Assembly in May.
@GovKathyHochul, please sign this vital bill into law to protect NY workers! ποΈπ #NYLeg
The Library Worker Protection Act has passed the Assembly! The provisions in this legislation are necessary steps to provide protection for the staff and their communities so that access to library resources is available and accessible for ALL! @AFSCMECouncil66
June a time to celebrate love, acceptance, and the diversity that makes our community stronger. We have come so far β and I remain committed to standing with the LGBTQ+ community to ensure every person is treated with dignity and full equality. Proud to celebrate with you. π
The FYβ27 budget is a win for NY students. Every district across the state will receive at least a 2% increase in Foundational Aid β including all schools in the 138th Assembly District. Education is the single most important tool we can give the children of today & tomorrow.
Too many child lead poisoning cases are tied to home renovation work done unsafely β spreading toxic lead dust through families' homes. A2749 would give NY State direct oversight of RRP rules, training & enforcement. Safer homes. Better protection for our kids. @leadfreekidsNY
At a time when families in my district are struggling with their utility bills, groceries, and the everyday cost of just getting by β I voted for the POWER rebate program because they deserve real relief. Over 8M NYers will receive β of up to $200 Sept. - Dec. automatically.
NY has some of the strongest worker protections in the country, but when it comes to paid medical leave - weβre falling behind. Workers diagnosed w/ an illness or injured outside of work shouldn't have to choose between their health and their paycheck. @NYCLU@AmericanCancer
Assembly Bill A.9571 would bring New York's paid medical leave program into the 21st century once and for all. Thank you @SolagesNY and @HarryBBronson for calling on the Legislature to act now and fix Temporary Disability Insurance: https://t.co/rQAzN9CSXz
Ghost guns are a growing threat - thatβs why I'm proud to support first in the nation legislation that will regulate 3D printers to prevent them from being used to print untraceable firearms in NY. The law will require 3D printers sold in NY to include preventative software.
The full FY'27 budget is still in progress, but education funding has been voted on β and it's a win for NY students. More school funding, expanded scholarships for high-demand careers, BOCES support, and a back-to-basics math curriculum. π
Today we remember and give thanks to the fallen heroes who gave everything to protect the freedoms we hold dear. May we honor their legacy not just today, but every day.
Harvey Milk didn't just break barriers β he showed what's possible when you refuse to be invisible. On this #HarveyMilkDay, we remember a leader who transformed grief and exclusion into political power, and whose words still ring true: "You gotta give 'em hope." #LGBTQ
Proud to join #ROC Assembly delegation in passing a Resolution in memory of Freddi Macek - a 33-year RCSD educator, VP of the RTA, lifelong union champion, and a friend. It was a privilege to welcome Freddi's labor family to Albany to accept the reso. @NYSAFLCIO@AFSCME@NYSPFFA
"Barney Frank showed the world that LGBTQ+ people belong in every room. He paved the way for so many of us to serve openly & ensure our voices are heard. At a time when our community is once again under attack, we are reminded of the shoulders we stand on."
Extreme heat is expected across NYS this week.
