He did not catch him on the boot, he caught him on the ankle with force. It was "dangerous". Red card.

I think that is a bigger barrier to making a correct decision than using the right word.

If you want to be pedantic with language, I notice you left out my choice of the adverb 'incredibly' to try to minimise the severity.
