@NicheSiteLady Makes sense. Last question. For link in comments posts, I assume when you do use ads it's an engagement campaign? Or is an awareness or something else?
Warning: I'M FEELING SPICY TODAY
I'll say the quiet parts out loud so you don't have to:
1. Sleep tracking is making you more anxious, not more rested. You're stressing about your sleep data and it's tripping you out.
2. Anytime you see a tweet that says "personal news," it's always career news. Why do people do that?
3. The phrase "we're all family here" is the biggest red flag in the corporate world. It's like saying, "we're going to exploit you emotionally and make you feel guilty for having boundaries."
4. "Just following up" is a great way to get your email unanswered. But maybe the worst is "just bumping this up." Congrats, you've earned a one-way ticket to the trash folder.
5. No one is more out of touch in startups than someone who is hiring a "rockstar developer" or a "marketing guru." Is it just me or is it very cringe?
6. Jaguar is the most relevant brand on the planet right now, with 50 million people talking about it. In a way, they crushed it. Let's see what act 2 is of their weird ad campaign. People are watching.
7. Most employees of VC-backed startups have absolutely no idea how much their equity is worth. The vast majority think they are worth millions when the preference stack is higher than Mount Everest.
8. Brain rot social content is bringing back our desire for analog and nostalgia.
9. The GDP of Claude is going to beat the GDP of Paris. What's going on in Europe?
10. Deleting your X account is more of a flex than anything. Tweeting about deleting it is sociopathic.
11. I keep seeing venture-backed startups using cold email illegally. Some are going to get hit with a rude awakening.
12. The phrase "we're a mission-driven company" is the mating call of the virtue-signaling startup founder who's about to lay off half their staff and sell your personal data to the highest bidder.
13. People build businesses around ideas, trends, and what's hot. You should build a business based on what type of customer you want to spend time with. You'll be way happier.
14. If your startup's core values include "work hard, play hard," I can only assume your idea of "playing" is a mandatory company happy hour with warm beer and stale pretzels.
15. You are what you ship. If you haven't shipped anything that's gotten traction in 2 years, you will be judged.
16. There are more SaaS companies that are basically affiliate plays in disguise than we care to admit.
17. Instant coffee isn't terrible, and it has high caffeine content. I realize I might get roasted (lol) for that.
18. "Let's follow up after the holidays" is culturally accepted procrastination.
19. "Let's chat in 2025" is code for they hope you forget about following up in 2025.
What did I miss?
If you haven't heard then you are missing out...

Our downtown core is being ripped up BIG TIME. The reason? The pipes & other infrastructure are 90 years old. It needs replacing. This work will also support thousands of new citizens to our downtown & increased revenue to the city by the way. So #Guelph has, what I believe, a once in a lifetime opportunity to put it all back together in a way that is pedestrian focused, better environmentally, a major economic boon & tourism attraction that could be transformational for our city! Other cities are embracing this, or are about to & I think we should too:
It took 7 years and a global pandemic but Nomad List is finally growing exponentially and passed >$500k/y
Almost exactly like @paulg's startup curve
