As someone whose university education was free (though maintenance grants were meanstested) I can never believe anything but it should still be free. I can’t understand people who were born before 1980, now late 40s or older, who got it free now saying it should cost even more!

This is nonsense. The standard new state pension will rise by £460 a year but only 27% of pensioners get that. The rest get the old basic state pension which 73% get will rise by £354 a year. It is misleading and plays into the wealthy pensioners trope.
