Slow, sustainable growth > wanting too much too fast, learned this the hard way in the past.
Core edge in short-term mean reversion trading, currently expanding my playbook while scaling what works.
Switzerland-based, sharing lessons & thoughts, looking to connect with others.
@edu_trades I can relate to you, especially now, being in drawdown ever since early April.
What I would be careful about is not making it worse. It starts with 1 loss that feels pretty bad in the moment. A mix of being eager to make it back & negative momentum then lead to more losses. $MU
That's always the tricky part & based on my performance on overext. stocks and mean reversion trading, I am not qualified to have a strong opinion.
I would look for a "marker" (trendline, EMA, break or close below prior bar low) that has held so far on the way up, and look for trades once it breaks.
Especially on $SNDK, a break or close below the prior days low could trigger a short with a stop at ATH.
Great post from @Braczyy when it comes to parabolic shorts.

@Valckrie Would appreciate to learn what you based your entry on with the stock at ATHs.
What level did you risk as you shorted pretty much at the highs? $SOXX
How do you manage risk when shorting the front-side move like that?
Asking because I have gotten burned big time shorting the front-side move. Whether it was $SLV, $MU, or pretty much anything in the current market.
Did you have a hard stop at $1,000?
Killer executions obviously!!
@Valckrie The recent pullback definitely gave it more energy for this move now, but the stock was still up close to 100% over the past month, and we're not talking about a microcap stock.
Anyway, will have to study such setups and executions like yours and practice to go with the trend.
@thelaptoplegend Fell asleep too fast, and I guess you woke up a couple of times. 8h 30 and that amount of REM & deep sleep is crazy!!
Same as trading. Good trading doesn't always get rewarded.
@GnT_Trades Exactly what happened to me yesterday with certain stocks being really extended. I thought they *had* to turn and move lower, and I ignored my risk management as they just kept squeezing higher. Here I am in some decent drawdown... $MU $INTC $SNDK $QQQ $SOXX $AMD $KORU
SLV post-mortem. ๐
The executions werenโt great, but thatโs not what cost me. The approach did.
Front-side shorts without a stop = slow bleed
Need to stick to intraday / short-term swings with defined risk, only on the best days.
Study the mistakes. Adjust. NEXT.

@RealSimpleAriel Great trade, you crushed it. Respect the mindset too; always looking to improve must be what got you here.
Obvious why Iโm focused on what to improve since I finished red.
A good reminder of why I canโt short the front-side move without a stop. Just look at that chart...
