About to come to an End
Today I integrated splunk and it’s forwarder, took my course on Coursera, also just generally revised Cybersecurity through the Net.

Day 83 of #100DaysOfCybersecurity
Investigated an RDP brute-force attack on BTLO! Parsed Windows Audit Failure logs via Excel/grep to track the targeted local account, mapped the port range, and pivoted to VirusTotal to geolocate the attacker's source IP.

Am I done with the #100DaysofCybersecurity challenge? Yes, I am, and this builds my consistency and improves my learning, but I'm not rounding it up now. 😊 Learning continues, and it hasn't been an easy one, but I am strengthened.
A big thanks to @CCChampionsC4 for the trainings and teachings.
Thank you, ma'am, @Lizettle.
Thank you, Sir @cyberjeremiah, always ready to give a listening ear and support 😊.
Unto the next learning phase

Tonight, I was opportune to hear and learn from @CyberRacheal on security operations; she did justice to the domain, and I enjoyed the class.
Thank you, ma @CyberRacheal
Thank you @CCChampionsC4

Day 70/100 of #100DaysOfCyberSecurity
I learned about IP addresses, starting with the network portion and the host portion. I also learned about different types of addresses such as unicast, broadcast, and multicast, and how they are used. @ireteeh @Sisinerd

Day 82 #100DaysOfCybersecurity
Deep-dived into Network Log Analysis! Covered NetFlow, Firewall, WAF, proxy, & DNS logs.
Put it to the test with hands-on labs (Port Scans, Web Attacks, & Shellshock) and unlocked the Network Analyzer, Detector, & Shocker badges!

Day 69/100 of #100DaysOfCyberSecurity
I learned about Ethernet switches and how they build and maintain a MAC address table by learning the MAC addresses of connected devices and I also learned how frames are forwarded from the source to the destination addre

Day 96✅Finally finished this 😭🥹
Time to set question for my self and answer and definitely everyday practice makes perfect. Also I know if I work with commands daily I won’t struggle to remember the meaning of the commands

Day 68/100 Of #100DaysOfCyberSecurity
I learned about network media, including common cables such as twisted pair, coaxial, and fiber optic cables, and where each type is used in different network setup and I watched how the OSI model works in apps browsing

Day 81 of #100DaysOfCybersecurity: Completed the Detecting Web Attacks
Triaged critical SOC alerts tracking SQLi, XSS, LFI, and Command Injection. Analyzed web server logs, malicious payload indicators, and HTTP status codes to map out the full attack kill chain

Day 31 of #100DaysOfCybersecurity 🔐
Today I completed 2 TryHackMe rooms: Passive Reconnaissance & Active Reconnaissance.
Two types of recon — same goal, different approach:
🕵️ Passive Recon (no direct contact)
→ WHOIS/RDAP for domain ownership
→ dig/nslookup for DNS records (A, MX, TXT)
→ https://t.co/pZxsfNJ1iE for subdomains via SSL cert logs
→ Shodan for exposed internet-facing devices
→ DNSDumpster for DNS mapping
⚡ Active Recon (direct interaction)
→ ping to confirm host is alive
→ traceroute to map the network path
→ netcat (nc) for banner grabbing
→ Browser DevTools (headers, certs, JS, cookies)
Key insight that surprised me: Active recon isn't just network traffic. Messaging someone from the target org counts as active recon. The line is direct engagement, not packet sending.
Defenders run these same tools to find what attackers see — before they do.
Tomorrow: TryHackMe Protocols & Servers + SSRF bypass techniques on PortSwigger 🎯

Day 22 of #100DaysOfCybersecurity
I learned about network-level DoS attacks. A SYN flood attack exploits the TCP three-way handshake by sending numerous SYN requests without completing the connection, consuming server resources.
Day 21 of #100DaysOfCybersecurity
I learned how devices communicate across networks, how secure communication works through HTTPS and SSL/TLS, and how tools like ping help detect network issues. Also did a practical on ping commands- had some troubleshooting along the way
Day 67/100 of #100DaysOfCyberSecurity
💻 I learned the roles of switches (connect devices in the same network) and also learned how to configure a router to enable communication between different network networks and also how the OSI and TCP/IP models work,
