140 years ago, an idea was born. That idea became the Indian National Congress. Not just a party — but the foundation of India’s freedom and democracy. 🇮🇳 #CongressFoundationDay #140YearsOfINC Mahatma Gandhi ji transformed Congress into a mass movement. Truth, non-violence and courage became India’s weapons against injustice. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji united a divided nation. From 565 princely states to one India — unity was Congress’ greatest strength. Jawaharlal Nehru ji dreamed of a modern, scientific India. Democracy, institutions and education — he laid the foundations of the Republic. K. Kamaraj ayya showed what selfless politics looks like. Education for the poor, simplicity in power, leadership from the grassroots. Tweet 6 Indira Gandhi ji gave India strength and confidence. She placed the voice of the poor at the centre of governance. Rajiv Gandhi ji prepared India for the 21st century. Technology, telecom and youth — he opened the doors to the future. In the 21st century, Sonia Gandhi ji protected the soul of the Constitution. RTI, MGNREGA, Food Security — rights-based governance that empowered people. Today, Rahul Gandhi ji walks with the people. He listens, unites and stands firm against hate — reminding India of the meaning of democracy. Under Mallikarjun Kharge ji’s leadership, Congress stands strong — rooted in constitutional values, social justice and collective leadership. This 140-year journey was not written in books alone — it was written by the sacrifice, courage and commitment of millions of Congress workers. From villages to cities, from streets to Parliament, to every Congress worker who carried the tricolour with pride and stood for India — Warm wishes on Congress Foundation Day! ✊🇮🇳 #CongressFoundationDay #140YearsOfINC #CongressWorkers #SaveDemocracy #IndiaWithCongress
