Day 30 #30DaysofJudge
2017 Topps flagship SSP -“Bat Under Arm”
Judge’s true rookie SSP. A very difficult pull, inserted 1:678 hobby packs and 1:126 hobby jumbo packs. 50 players in total had SSPs in series 1
A stoic image, and I would argue Judge’s best non-auto rookie card

Day 29 #30DaysofJudge
2017 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition
Sold as a complete set with only 250 box sets made. Each set had 13 base parallels, 5 rookie autos and TWO SUPERFRACTORS! A set cost $1500 at release
Considered by many to be Judge’s single best non-image variation
🧵

Day 28 #30DaysofJudge
A rite of passage for most collectors is grabbing the annual Topps flagship complete set
2017 has series 1 and 2 (not update) along with 5 foil board cards and the retail edition has rookie “variations” on flagship design
2017 complete set variation
🧵

Day 27 #30DaysofJudge
2017 Topps Update is the release following series 2 intended to introduce late rookie roster additions and players traded
Here we see Judge’s SSP image variation, appropriately #US99
“Bat on Left Shoulder”

Day 25 #30DaysofJudge
2018 Topps Heritage pays homage to 1969. Known to be positioned towards set collectors, this checklist includes 500 players and 100 short prints!
Often chased are Real One Autographs (and red ink) as well as black parallels.
Here is a plain ole base 😂🤷

Day 24 #30DaysofJudge
Not the first time we’ve seen Topps Opening Day, but this time we feature Judge’s 2017 RC SP image variation.
While the base set mirrors its flagship brethren, the short prints and inserts generate the interest in OD
SP image variation- 1:256 packs
🧵

Day 23 #30DaysofJudge
2019 topps chrome SP variation “bat on shoulder”
A fun chase, showing up in 1:247 packs. Just like in 2018, all chrome image variations are refractors, also include green, orange, red and supers
🧵

Day 22 #30DaysofJudge
Back to 2017 Topps Chrome
In 2017, X-Fractor rookie autos were serially numbered /20 making only the red and supers harder to come by.
For modern day chrome parallels, I like to focus on the true base refractor, team color, gold and X-fractor

Day 21 #30DaysofJudge
Dugout peeks made its debut as an insert in the Topps Opening Day set in 2018.
The odds to pull a sweet, sweet dugout peeks in 2018 was an astounding 1:1,791 packs!
Here’s the Aaron Judge run 😎👊(disregard national anthem insert)

Day 20 #30DaysofJudge
Flagship Topps Gold
One of the “OG” parallels, began in 1992 and still remains very popular today. Modern day cards are serial numbered to the year of the set
In today’s dilution of parallels, historical standing is important for value retention
🧵

Day 19 #30DaysofJudge
In honor of Bowman release week, we have 2017 Bowman and Judge’s bowman chrome rookie card blue refractor (team color match 😉) auto
Known for prospects, Bowman typically makes rookie autographs a tough pull
Base auto total pop 356, blue has pop 62 in 9.5

Day 17 #30DaysofJudge
One of my favorite cards, 2017 Topps Flagship SP Image Variation “Leaning on Rail”
Series 1 checklist didn’t include SP variations, presenting an opportunity for cards to be overlooked
The general theme for 2017 variations involved dugout images
🧵

Day 16 #30DaysofJudge
2018 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition is high end flagship released as an online exclusive. Each box was 106 cards including 3 autographs
Judge’s image is a bit more favorable than his RC, displaying his powerful approach at the plate AND the rookie cup
🧵

Day 15 #30DaysofJudge
Celebrating the halfway mark with a banger 🔥
2017 Topps Chrome Update was a Target retail only release and mega boxes could be had for $19.99!
Unlike previous topps chrome update releases, every pack is chromium
Autographs surfaced 1:8 boxes
🧵

Day 14 #30DaysofJudge
Heart of the City was a 2022 insert series that resonated with me as a player collector. I knew I had to have this card in the PC.
I remember sending in with a PSA sub hoping Judge would re-sign with the Yankees
Great image paired with the NYC skyline

Day 13 #30DaysofJudge
2017 Topps Chrome SP image variation
2017 was the first year where all chrome image variations were refractors, including low number parallels (green, orange, red and super)
A tough pull, with 1 chrome image variation surfacing every 6 hobby boxes
🧵

Day 11 #30DaysofJudge
2017 Topps Chrome is a staple for any Judge PC — flagship image with a chromium finish
Ironic to have a “fielding” flagship image for one of the game’s best power hitters…

Day 9 #30DaysofJudge
First auto of the PC group and it’s a banger
2017 Topps Baseball / 1987 Chrome Cards could be had via special silver packs from your LCS as a special flagship promo. Every hobby box yielded one four-card pack while jumbo boxes had two packs

Day 8 #30DaysofJudge
Going back to the treasure trove that is Topps Opening Day
The “National Anthem” insert had a brief life in 2017 and 2018 as one of the SSP sets for OD. A tough pull at 1:286 packs
A sneaky Judge card as it is his rookie year, yet no RC emblem

Day 7 #30DaysofJudge
Not much to say here aside from it being a great image, as one expects from Stadium Club Chrome
2020 is the year that Stadium Club Chrome earned the right to be a standalone set (whereas being an insert in prior years)
