T-6. Planning and Preparation. Proper planning prevents poor performance. There is this confidence that comes from proper preparation, which minimizes mistakes/errors compared to unpreparedness. To avoid anyhowness, I have short, medium, and long-term plans. #40daysto40 #thankful
T-13. Integrity. Maintaining a good name is one of my greatest assets. A good name is more important than, and should be, prioritized over making money. Money can not buy a good name. I, therefore, do the right things, right to maintain my integrity. #40daysto40 #40andblessed
T-22. My physical shape is equally as important as my mental and spiritual shape, in order to fulfill my purpose. Therefore, I maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercising and taking healthy meals that help keep my body in shape. #40andblessed #40daysto40 #soaringinto40
Day 1!
My 30s.
The best years of my life. This decade taught me so much: it showed me the world; sent me my favourite people, and helped me to understand myself deeply. An incredible journey of reflection and growth. Thankful π

Day 2.
My friends.
I don't know what I did to deserve them, but I lucked out with my friends.
Paths cross. People come and go. But some have such an impact that you hold on to them tightly.
Ready to take on my last day in my 30s tomorrow.

Day 3.
Bravery.
I'm grateful that I've learned to be brave when I need to be. To live alone. To say something difficult. To wait for what's right. To let go of what isn't.
And today, to walk along here, Giddy Edge, in Matlock.

Day 4.
My friends.
This is Laura. We've been best friends for 35 years. Our lives are completely different now, but we still fold into our usual closeness every time we meet. She's the best.
This weekend is all about her. β€οΈ

Day 5.
Spontaneity
I had no plan this morning, but when I woke at 5.30, I already knew what I was going to do.
And it was worth it.
I'm grateful for the sense of adventure that comes with spontaneity and the freedom I have to enjoy it. π

Day 6.
My siblings.
I'm one of 7. Each of us very different. We don't see each other as much as we should but they are all amazing people who I wouldn't be without. Life was busy in our house.

Day 7.
Risk.
All my life I've been told I take risks. Sometimes, this literally takes me to the edge.
Risk is scary, but without it we don't always progress and grow. It doesn't always work out, but I'm grateful for my attitude towards it.

Day 8.
My mum.
I don't think I know anyone more selfless. She raised five of her own children whilst working all hours. Fostered challenging teens aged 16+. Continues to help raise countless grandchildren and now a great grandchild too. What a woman!

Day 9.
Hope.
I've always been able to see the positive in life. Just like dad. This year has tested me like no other and whilst I've truly struggled through, I've never stopped hoping that the future will be something incredible.
Hope tells me so π«

Day 10.
Hugs.
Being tactile, I love hugs and don't get nearly enough of them. They say you have to hug for 20 seconds or more to release oxytocin.
I'm genuinely excited for my birthday party when I get to hug all my friends family in one place. π€

Day 11.
Autumn.
My favourite of all seasons. Wooly hats and scarves. Clear, crisp mornings. Cloud inversions and rolling mist. Glorious sunsets. Golden colours enveloping the land. Hot drinks. Open fires. Warm hugs.

Day 12.
Young people
I'm grateful to them all. Each of them managing to amaze me with their growth, kindness and humour.
Today, a student told a teacher that I looked 10yrs younger than b4 summer and I was glowing π€£ At 12 days to 40, I'll take that.

Day 14.
Work friends.
I struggled to leave behind my work friends in London. We grew to be the very best of friends. But today I was reminded that my new colleagues are pretty special. I feel so lucky to have them in my life.
