I spent several days now wondering what UK is buying 30x173 PELE ammunition for. Only known 30x173 mm weapons known in UK use are on warhips, but Penetrator w Enhanced Lateral Effect (inert armor piercing round containing no HE) doesn't strike me as particularly desirable at sea?

The BIA 2023 exercise organized by the French Army mobilized 13 R1 JAGUARs. Over 1,700 rounds of 40mm ammunitions were fired on fixed or moving targets. This exercise tested the #JAGUAR’s capabilities in terms of firing accuracy, ergonomy and mobility.
