@UN_HRC will discuss again the case of the 101 members of our faith currently detained in #Turkey, during the upcoming #54thsession of the council. The session will be held from 11 September to 13 October 2023 in #Geneva. There are currently 47 countries that are members of the #HumanRights Council. They are composed of #African, #AsiaPacific, #EasternEuropean, #LatinAmerican, #Caribbean, #WesternEuropean and other states. The case will be discussed in front of them and a written statement will be distributed to them as well. The written statement, jointly submitted with @HRWFint and CAP Freedom of Conscience addresses the human rights abuses and severe religious persecution endured by 101 members of our faith at the hands of Turkish authorities for almost 90 days until now, particularly the ill-treatment of vulnerable members. It also addresses efforts to secure humanitarian/asylum visas by various EU and Western countries, as the only solution to release the group from detention, grant them protection, and safeguard their right to #freedomofreligion.
