Happy new year to you all! I just released a new update of my remake (1.10.1). It finally contains the 3rd episode of #Ambermoon Advanced (only german for now, working on translations, #Amiga version soon). Thank you all for your support! 2025 will be good year for #Amberstar.
Spoiler Alert: The next episode of #Ambermoon Advanced won't only add new stuff, it will also improve existing quests, monsters and so on. In the second episode I added the Vortex and the remains of Manyeyes from #Amberstar. I added a completely new monster sprite which was ugly.

Implementing the #Amberstar 3D NPCs correctly was very hard. There is much special handlings. For example if they are very close, it is not a normal animation but the first frame is a static base sprite while the other frames are drawn animated in front of it with special offset.
I finally managed to implement 3D maps for the #Amberstar remake. The city sky is not fully working and some things are missing but most of it works fine. I want to thank @creichen_net as he decoded all the 3D stuff and many other things. Great job! #Amiga #Thalion #AmigaReposts
#Amberstar remake update. The picture event is now available. I also implemented text rendering (even with scrolling which was quite hard to do right). The savegame is already used here. Time progression also works already. The clock is only for debugging. ;) #Amiga #Retro #Games
Sorry for posting that much recently. :D Now the player can be moved on 2D maps. Collision detection is also implemented. #Amberstar remake is going well right now.

Today I reached the first milestone for #Amberstar. This is the first real rendering of the game.
I reworked lot of the #Ambermoon engine including the renderer to make it more flexible and easy to use.
This is directly loading and rendering the original Atari game data.#Amiga
Today I managed to decode all the #Amberstar layouts. This is not as easy as it might seem. Each of the 11 layouts consists of 20x11 blocks (16x16 each) while the top row uses only a 16x12 part and the bottom row a 16x7 part and the lower corners are finished with bit masks.
While analyzing the #Atari version of #Amberstar I found that I need tools to decompress LArc and read Prg, so I created C# libraries to handle such files. So you can read and partially write such files on modern systems more easily now. And I can read the main exe contents.
Yesterday evening I started to work on the #Amberstar port. Even though the source code is open now, it is quite some work to figure everything out and find all the data which is needed. @creichen_net and I also document everything we decode and figure out. #Thalion #Amiga #Retro

RPG games played a big piece of my life, (Valhalla) but later on the #AtariST I was hooked on #Amberstar just in t(at time my grandmother died and I kept on playing the whole day.
