#Autogas is helping public sector fleets reduce both costs and emissions.
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina converted 10 patrol vehicles to Autogas and installed on-site refuelling infrastructure as part of a fleet modernisation programme.
The results were significant:
• More than $13,000 in annual fuel cost savings
• 20 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions avoided each year
• Approximately 17,000 gallons of Autogas used annually
• Patrol vehicles operating nearly 25,000 miles per year
The fleet also reported no noticeable difference in vehicle performance, while benefiting from bi-fuel technology that allows vehicles to switch between Autogas and gasoline when needed. The combined operating range was estimated at 500-600 miles.
For law enforcement and other high-mileage fleets, Autogas continues to demonstrate its value as a practical, proven and cost-effective transport fuel.

Large fleet operators continue to recognise the value of #Autogas.
@UPS announced a $70 million investment to deploy 1,000 propane-powered delivery trucks and install 50 refuelling stations across its network. The vehicles were introduced primarily on rural routes where fuel availability, range and infrastructure are critical considerations.
The new fleet was expected to:
➡️Travel more than 25 million miles annually
➡️Displace approximately 3.5 million gallons of gasoline and diesel each year
➡️Operate with a range of up to 200 miles on a single tank of Autogas
At the time of the announcement, UPS already operated nearly 900 #Propane vehicles in Canada and more than 3,150 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles worldwide.
The investment demonstrated how Autogas can provide a practical, scalable and readily available transport fuel solution for commercial fleets, particularly in areas where alternative fuel infrastructure remains limited.

Fleet operators continue to turn to #Autogas as a practical transport fuel solution.
@Nestle Waters North America added more than 400 Autogas delivery trucks to its fleet, bringing the total number of #propane-powered vehicles to nearly 600. At the time, these vehicles accounted for approximately 30% of the company's North American delivery fleet.
The expansion followed the deployment of 185 Autogas trucks in California and reflected the company's broader efforts to reduce emissions and fuel costs across its operations.
According to the company, Autogas vehicles offered lower fuel costs than conventional fuels while helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.
The example highlights how propane autogas can provide a proven, commercially available option for fleets seeking to improve environmental performance without compromising operational requirements.
