نحن نفكر في الخوارزمية على أنها شيء جديد.
لكن المصطلح في الواقع يعود إلى حوالي 900 عام مضت.
ان كلمة #algorithm (الخوارزمية) مشتقة من اسم عبقري رياضيات يُدعى محمد بن موسى الخوارزمي.
وُلد حوالي عام 780 م في بلاد فارس و التي تُعرف الآن باسم #أوزبكستان. ومن اسمه يعرف أنه جاء من خوارزم (Khwarizm).
كان الخوارزمي مديرًا في بيت الحكمة، وهو مركز فكري للعلماء في #بغداد خلال القرن التاسع الميلادي.
قدّم إسهامات مبتكرة في الرياضيات، وعلم الفلك، والجغرافيا، ورسم الخرائط. وكتب كتابًا مؤثرًا بعنوان فن الحساب الهندي.
وبعد حوالي 300 عام، أُعيد اكتشاف الكتاب وتُرجم إلى اللغة اللاتينية. وقدّم هذا الكتاب الأرقام الهندية-العربية إلى الغرب، والتي حلّت تدريجيًا محل الأرقام الرومانية المعقدة.
ونظام الأرقام الهندي-العربي، بالإضافة إلى الفاصلة العشريةوالصفر كما وُصف في كتابه، أصبح أساس الأرقام التي نستخدمها في جميع أنحاء العالم اليوم.
عندما تُرجم اسم الخوارزمي إلى اللاتينية في عنوان الكتاب، أصبح Algorithmi ومن هنا نشأت كلمة algorithm.
ونحن مدينون له أيضًا بكلمة algebra (الجبر)، والتي جاءت من أحد أعماله الأخرى.
وقد أحدثت كتبه ثورة في الرياضيات في الغرب، حيث أظهرت كيف يمكن تقسيم المشكلات المعقدة إلى أجزاء أبسط وحلها خطوة بخطوة.
وفي أوائل القرن العشرين، عمل عالم الرياضيات والحاسوب البريطاني آلان تورينج على كيفية قيام آلة نظريًا باتباع تعليمات خوارزمية لحل مسائل رياضية معقدة.
كان هذا بداية عصر الحواسيب.
وخلال الحرب العالمية الثانية، بنى تورينج آلة تُدعى البومب (The Bombe)، والتي استخدمت الخوارزميات لفك شفرة إنيغما الألمانية.
الخوارزميات موجودة في كل مكان الآن.
تساعدنا على الانتقال من مكان إلى آخر، وتُشغّل محركات البحث على الإنترنت، وتقدم توصيات بما نشتريه أو نشاهده أو نشاركه، وتتنبأ بكيفية تصويتنا أو حتى بمن قد نقع في حبه.
هذه الكلمة الصغيرة التي نشأت في العصور الوسطى، تُغيّر حياتنا تدريجيًا.

تستخدم خوارزميات لتحليل اهتماماتك وعرض المنشورات والفيديوهات التي تفضلها في صفحتك الرئيسية.
🔶️محركات البحث:
عند البحث في Google، تطبق الخوارزميات مئات القواعد لعرض أدق النتائج لك في أجزاء من الثانية.
🔶️الذكاء الاصطناعي:
يعتمد بالكامل على خوارزميات معقدة لمعالجة البيانات الضخمة وتوقع سلوك المستخدمين أو توليد النصوص والصور.

🚨@Meta has abruptly taken down a new feature that allowed people to use its artificial intelligence (AI) tool to make fake images from user content on @instagram.

The feature was part of a broad rollout of Muse Image, a new AI image generation tool Instagram's parent company released on Tuesday.
It allowed users of the Meta AI chatbot to tag public-facing accounts on Instagram and quickly use content on those accounts to create AI-generated or altered content and images.
The feature quickly sparked blowback due to privacy concerns, leading Meta to admit it had “missed the mark" so it was "no longer available”.
Muse Image was the tech firm's first foray into AI image generation but faced backlash as Instagram users were opted in by default.
It meant that anyone with a public account could have their likeness used without their knowledge or permission.
Hollywood union SAG-AFTRA described the U-turn as a "win". It had previously urged its members and "all Instagram users" to take action to protect their likeness, stating that there had been an "utter miscalculation of public sentiment regarding the obvious dangers and harms inherent in such use".
The London-based human rights charity Privacy International had also criticised the feature, telling the BBC it was "the latest sign AI companies see people's images and data as raw material to be exploited".
