On 3 March 1854 #AnnWalker was buried in a vault in the old now demolished St. Matthew's Church. In the 1860s a pulpit was put over the Walker vault (and the brass plaque placed in a nearby window recess.) This 2024 ledger stone now marks the spot.
Yesterday, the 172nd anniversary of #AnnWalker's death a floral tribute was left in the fencing that the contractors who are restoring the tower have had to put up. Today the flowers were moved into one of the water filled flower holders by the ledger stone.
No flowers in the holders by #AnnWalker's ledgerstone as nobody can get to them. But the little clump of snowdrops is in full bloom as are snowdrops in the rest of the churchyard. Be careful if you are walking through as it is muddy underfoot.
