In exchange for a false sense of safety and ease, the #ASAA would create privacy concerns for all app store users by creating yet another place online where everyone must show a gov't ID (supporters try to sweep this under the rug by referring to commercially reasonable methods, but to my knowledge haven't given any examples where this doesn't quickly unravel to ID checks).
The #ASAA would change parental controls from “opt-out,” where parents actively choose where to limit access, to “opt-in,” where parents must take time to allow access to all the content they want their children to view. This won't change any of the fundamental conflicts parents and kids have over screen time or social media, nor will it address any of the fundamental risks.
