American Legion Boys State brought some 300 incredible high school juniors and seniors from across the state to learn more about how government works — hands on.
Over the past few years I’ve been asked by both #GirlsState and #BoysState to present to their groups in their respective weeks. What an honor. This year I was joined by Senator @MBousselot who gave a rousing speech.
This week they campaign for and are elected to their internal offices by their peers, have committees, draft legislation and debate relevant topics.
The energy, enthusiasm was cool. These young leaders will have a major impact in how Iowa runs in the future.
