The UNESCO-UNEVOC #BILT Bridging Event hosted by Unisa, in partnership with DUT and JET Education Services, concluded today in Durban with reflections on the importance of collaboration, ethical leadership and innovation in strengthening #TVET systems.
Delivering the closing keynote address on behalf of Unisa Principal and Vice-Chancellor Prof Puleng LenkaBula, Dr Molapo reflected on the value of shared learning throughout the event, highlighting how delegates exchanged best practices, policy approaches and innovative ideas aimed at advancing responsive and future-focused TVET systems.
Dr Molapo emphasised the importance of lifelong learning and the collective commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), while noting the critical role of digital innovation, AI and industry partnerships in enhancing vocational education and training. She further highlighted the importance of strengthening lecturer capacity to ensure that educators are equipped to respond to evolving skills demands.
She encouraged delegates to take the lessons and best practices shared during the conference back to their respective institutions and countries to advance skills development and sustainable growth across the continent and beyond.
