Cessationism Is a Doctrine of Demons? Do you agree with pastor Matthew Forsythe

There’s still A LOT that hasn’t been uncovered in this video
“We do not build doctrine on experience, but on the Bible.”

#cessationism believes the apostolic age ended based on this
“Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
1 Corinthians 13:8-13 KJV
Notice, Paul said I see through a glass darkly now. Meaning the perfect hasn’t come and won’t till heaven we get to. Not the Bible
And if anyone again prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, ‘You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of the Lord.’ And his father and mother who bore him shall pierce him through when he prophesies. -Zechariah 13:3

Are spiritual gifts for today, or did they end with the apostles? The debate between cessationism and continuationism is shaping churches everywhere. Where do you stand?

The conference ceased to exist. Unlike healing, miracles and prophecy! Glad to see God pre ordaining the shut down of false teachers! #cessationism #macarthur #justinpetersonswheelchair
#G3 #cessationism
The critics of the G3 conference are right in saying that gifts of dreams, prophecy, healing etc are coterminous with the "last days."
But, the last days ended in the 1st century at the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70 (Luke 21:22). Therefore, the gifts have ceased and God no longer speaks through dreams and visions.
Another #Calvinist claiming to be led only by The Bible but just another lip-service #SolaScriptura Christian. Nothing in The Word says dreams, visions, spiritual gifts have ended. Some gifts may be rare but #cessationism is hermeneutical folly.

“Very clearly, the orthodox theologians of the era [17th century] rejected all forms of ‘enthusiasm’—every claim to subsequent revelation beyond the inscripturated word.”
James Renihan

“Expect no new revelation, nor any other prophet to be raised up, to discover the mind of God to you, or to make void any thing that is not written, or to teach you otherwise to believe, act, or do, that you may be saved.”

There will be a new website for the Statement on Spiritual Gifts eventually, but if you are interested in getting an update when available, there is an email sign-up available here: https://t.co/DVW2IoXvBz

Excellent point. And one that cannot be adequately answered. #cessationism is an extra-biblical tradition of man.
I find it odd that while Jesus didn't heal everyone at the pool of Bethesda and while Paul left Trophimus sick in Miletus and encouraged Timothy to drink wine because of his stomach problems, charismatics today with gifts of healing are told by cessationists they must heal everyone in a hospital to prove the validity of their gift. How unscriptural.
#Cessationism is one of the clearest examples of eisegesis. One cannot derive that from the scriptures alone.
I have been excited / encouraged by the fact that @G3Conference is having a conference on #Cessationism because I believe it to be a biblical position .. and in my area of the world (Tulsa, Oklahoma) it needs more promotion.
The amount of false churches with deficient, abhorrent, and dishonoring views of the Holy Spirit and the gifts here are legion.
But it is becoming increasingly clear to me, that more than being encouraging, it’s insanely needed, even in our Reformed/Calvinisitic circles.
The amount of people trying to redefine biblical and confessional cessationism is mind blowing.
Thank you @JoshBuice , @ScottAniol , @virgilwalker , and the rest of the brothers at @G3Conference for both your faithful labors and cognizant pulse tapping.
This is no small and trivial matter.
See ya in Mustang!
