@RossMcKinneyMD @Alex_bolt1 Agree entirely – it may not be suitable for influenza, especially since we already have a system that works (for the most part). But for other viral diseases, mRNA vaccines might be a godsend. #CFASChat

@Alex_bolt1 Not an expert, but I’ve read they make vaccine production much faster and more efficient. This might help with the next pandemic as well endemic flu since we’re always guessing what flu strain might show up. #CFASChat

@jdavidwarren @ermiwe @AAMCtoday It seems like one clear lesson of the pandemic is that science itself is not sufficient if the product of that science doesn’t reach the public. Academic medicine is particularly well-positioned to help tackle that challenge given its intersecting missions #CFASchat
