"Good news. In Funan County, Fuyang, the local urban management and agriculture and rural affairs bureaus shut down a den that had been stealing and selling cats for a long time, ending the evil practice of cat meat industry.
Since there was no shelter in the area, all 150 cats rescued earlier were released on the spot, but they would eventually be captured again by evil cat kidnappers. Local volunteers approached Ping An Afu for help. A week ago, we received 23 rescued cats, and two days ago, we welcomed another 27 furry friends, who arrived at the shelter at 3 pm.
Every day, new lives arrive, or we race against time to save their lives.
They are different species, but they were similar in the past: Abandoned, sold, and displaced, stumbling and falling, they finally arrived at Afu, a place where they could temporarily find shelter from the wind and rain as well as evil cat meat dealers.
With so many kitties coming in and now about 1000 in all at the shelter, the pressure on food, medicine, and cages increased dramatically. We earnestly call everyone to lend a helping hand to these newly rescued little lives!

"Ping An Afu has nearly 6,000 furry friends, and all resources have to be used sparingly. The weather is even worse than usual, with either scorching sun or torrential rain. Due to the high electricity bills, only the elderly and the long-term care intensive care units, and the patient wards have air conditioning.
Of the four base locations, 90 percent of the rescues need ice to help cool down. Each time, 100 ice cubes are distributed, one or two cubes to each room in each shelter. The ice, along with fans, helps cool the rooms and help the animals get through the most difficult hours of the day. Electricity is expensive, and ice is comparatively less costly. However, ice is still a consumable item, needed almost daily during hot weather, making it a continuous and urgent expense.
Sister Ha worries about food and healthcare every day. With nearly 6,000 furry babies, she has to deal with all sorts of management issues on one hand, and on the other hand, she has to hold a bottle and feed the babies who lost their mothers . Due to the lack of staff, Ms. Ha is shouldering the responsibilities of care takers. Her own health is a concern too though she keeps saying "Don't worry about me".
With the economic downturn, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep the children fed. We hope our friends will continue to support and encourage Ping An shelters. "An update on our #Yulin cat duo, Rhu and Venus. Both survived the horrors of Yulin and were fortunate enough to be adopted together.
These two very lucky cats now have a wonderful life in England, complete with their own outdoor catio and loving fur siblings—including another Yulin survivor.
This time last year, they were still in China. Now, it feels as though they have always lived here. We couldn’t have wished for more loving guardians or a happier home for them.

"Typhoon Bavi, the ninth typhoon of the year, swept through Xinyi City, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province on the afternoon of July 13 and then moved northward. During the typhoon's passage, Xuzhou and the surrounding areas experienced strong winds and torrential rain.
The weather has gradually returned to normal, and everyone at Ping An A Fu were exhausted after battling the torrential rain and flooding over the past week. But seeing the children's excited smiles as the sun came out filled them with energy, and they again went to work. We prioritized cleaning tasks. Children with dirty hairballs, hair-shedding , and children with skin conditions are worked on first. All children need to be checked and checked again. In the large yard of Ping An A Fu, children are everywhere so this task seems endless.
While the dogs and cats in Ping An A Fu are enjoying the nice day after a huge rain storm, and basking in the sunshine, Sister Ha is working hard to relocate the shelter. Due to complaints from nearby residents, even though our animals never go outside, we are still being forced to move. This isn't the first time, and Sister Ha has to run around and look for another location.
Ping An Afu has 6,000 furry children. The rent, medical care, one ton of food daily, and various miscellaneous expenses and wages are already overwhelming for Sister Ha. Now, moving costs have to be added. Ping An Afu desperately needs everyone's support. Please help us out; Ping Anafu children are extremely grateful!

"800 cats were rescued!
On the morning of May 18, 2026, 800 cats in 55 cages were rescued in Shun'an Village, Liancheng Street, Lianshu County, Huai'an City, Jiangsu, China after volunteers discovered a large and illegal cat trading site.
Qiuqiu Manor, @qiuqiumanoroffical, took in 20 cages and the Huangma Rescue Base took 35 cages.
Thank you to the amazing volunteers! Saving animals is always uplifting. I hope the aftercare of the cats goes smoothly.
Now, the hard rehabilitation work begins! Many of the cats are sick after being in these cages. Many latent diseases break out after the rescue. All the time, food, cat litter, medicines, volunteers...all resources are needed.
These cats would have been transported south of China, to Guangdong and Guangxi, and slaughtered for human consumption. It is shameful that this illegal trade is still rampant in China. According to the recent research of the Chinese activists, estimated 5 - 8,5 million cats are butchered for human consumption every year in China."

Once again, we have received a report through our reporting tool in Vietnam about a case of cat theft. This is what the person wrote to us:
🗣️ “I saw two cat cages at Gate 1 of XX Bus Station in Ha Dong District, Hanoi. I asked the security guard, and he said the cats were kept there until 9 a.m. and then sold for meat.”
Along with this short message, he sent us the photos shown in this post. You can see how terrified and confused these poor cats must have been, crammed into rusty cages without knowing what would happen to them. But their fate had already been decided by cruel cat meat traders: these cats are no longer alive. 💔
This is happening in broad daylight at a public bus station in Vietnam. Cats are stolen from the streets and even from family homes to be sold for their meat. This has to stop now. 🛑"

Volunteers report this:
"Gross violation of animal quarantine laws, food safety laws, illegal business operations. The operators should be sentenced to five years in prison.
Request that the Public Security Bureau, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, and Market Supervision Administration conduct joint law enforcement operations to eradicate the practice, impose severe penalties, and confiscate live cats, which will then be handed over to volunteers."

"There are traffickers who cut off the heads and tails of cats and sell them as rabbits, and they are all skinned, so it's unrecognizable. "March 13th, 2026. Cat rescue in progress! But the cats don't know that, and they are in full panic.
Cat slaughterhouse in Hepu, Beihai, Guangxi, China. A lot has been posted about this place in the last few days and there have been many cat rescues.
New cats are being transported to this place to be slaughtered on a daily basis, but fortunately volunteers have also been able to rescue. They also report this illegal place to the authorities...
As I understand it, this rescue was done by buying the cats. It is the only way to save in Guangxi. The authorities do not help, even though the cat meat trade is illegal.
Of course, saving by buying is not good, because it actually fuels this cruel trade. But it's understandable and many cats get a chance to live.
The butchers catch the cats and put them in sacks. After that, they are handed over to the rescuers. This is a normal procedure."
