She challenged participants to look beyond the question of where to find climate finance and instead examine why existing capital is not being directed towards climate action at the scale required.

While unpacking Africa’s climate finance landscape, Ms. Chavi Meattle, Climate Finance Specialist at Climate Policy Initiative, put Uganda’s financing needs into perspective and asking a critical question: Why does the money keep choosing something else?
She notes that Uganda needs about US$28 billion by 2030 to deliver its NDCs, with about 85% conditional on external finance.
