The horrific details of this raid expose the hollow nature of 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐌𝐀𝐈’𝐬 moralizing: 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐍𝐄𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍, the young Wife of Mr. Tongpao, was hunted out from her hiding place underneath a Bed and brutally shot multiple times in the head. Another innocent Woman, 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐇𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐍𝐆, Wife of Mr. Thanggoulen, and a young Man, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆, son of Mr. Seilun, were also murdered in the barbaric attack. In addition to these three fatalities, Four innocent Villagers sustained severe, life-threatening injuries, including 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐍𝐄𝐈𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐆, whose condition remains critical, alongside 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐄𝐈𝐋𝐔𝐍, 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐃𝐄𝐈𝐋𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆, and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐈, while two residential #Houses were completely set ablaze, leaving Families #devastated and #homeless.
The violent tragedy at 𝐓𝐄𝐈𝐊𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆 underscores a glaring double standard in regional political leadership and a total collapse of accountability. Public figures like 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐁𝐎𝐔 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐌𝐀𝐈 eagerly demand #moral reform and #restraint from neighboring Communities, yet remain conspicuously silent when Armed Cadres operating within their own #political and #ethnic spheres commit atrocities against unarmed Women and non-combatants. This selective outrage reveals that the call for "𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲" is not a 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚 for these Leaders, but a 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙥𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙘 deployed only when convenient.
Moreover, the fact that #InsurgentGroups bound by '𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙨' and '𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙-𝙧𝙪𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨' can freely roam, carry sophisticated automatic Weapons, and execute defenseless Civilians in broad daylight raises grave questions regarding the total failure (or intentional complicity) of #SecurityForces and Government enforcement mechanisms. When political figures lecture others on #humanity while #ArmedGroups affiliated with their broader political alliance execute #Women hiding under Beds with total impunity, their moral authority is permanently compromised.
The broader implications of this political #hypocrisy are disastrous for the future of #Manipur and the wider region.
