#CollierCounty #Republicans this one is for you. Steve Edward Farley just dropped a piece that pulls the curtain back on exactly how the machine operates behind closed doors in our own backyard. It is a MUST READ and it should make every real grassroots conservative angry. Here is the outline of what he wrote so you see the whole picture before you click. First the event. Leadership put together a private VIP reception for Byron Donalds at Aqua restaurant in North Naples. It happened on June 23. Selected insiders and donors were in the room. The official Collier County Republican Party brand got used on it. But the majority of elected committee members got zero notice. No invite. No announcement on the calendar. Nothing. Then the post that blew it open. State Representative Yvette Benarroch who has deep ties to Donalds and used to be vice chair of the REC posted about it the next morning on her verified page. She straight up said it was hosted by the Collier County Republicans and tagged the party along with the chair’s wife who also happens to be the treasurer. Next the pushback. Elected committeeman Darren Dione Aquino stepped up and published an open letter. He asked the tough questions that every member should be asking. Who authorized using the party name for this? Who organized it? Why were so many elected members and volunteers completely shut out? What rules were followed if any? Were any committee resources used to make it happen? He made it clear this kind of thing is not right and the membership deserves real transparency. Farley does not stop there. He shows this is part of a bigger pattern happening across Florida counties. The official Republican Party brand keeps getting borrowed to boost one candidate in the middle of a contested primary while the actual voters and members get treated like background noise. Same thing played out in Miami Dade. The state party even set debate rules that conveniently cleared the field for only one guy. That is not how a free Republican primary is supposed to work. The primary is August 18. We have Byron Donalds, Jay Collins, Paul Renner, and James Fishback all running as Republicans. Every one of them deserves a fair shot in front of the voters. Real debates. Real questions. No matter who has the biggest bank account or the most endorsements right now. That is the only way the people actually decide. This whole situation hits me deep. It reminds me way too much of the stories my Cuban mother told me about how the regime worked back home. One man gets selected by the insiders. The machine shuts everyone else out. No real choice. Just fall in line. We fled that for freedom and opportunity here in America. We did not come here to watch the same backroom games get played under the American flag in our own county. Donalds knows what it is like to fight uphill. He built his name when the big machine was not behind him. Now that he is on the other side suddenly private receptions under the party name are fine and open debates get avoided. That flip is exactly how power starts to corrupt the process. This article is a wake up call. The party belongs to the voters and the members who do the real work not just the connected few in private rooms. We deserve better than this.
