This is a huge win for consumers who have long demanded telecom choice and competition. @NavdeepSBains' Policy Direction sends a strong signal that consumers and competition in all forms must be central to CRTC regulatory policies.
This cuts two ways- on the one hand hedge funds don't care about closing newspapers for financial reasons. On the other hand they don't generally have any particular ideological axe to grind unlike some more "involved" proprietors. #comm505 something to think about for next week!
