How Our #Mission Was Born
The #CradlesToCrayons story began in a bedroom drawer. While founder #LynnMargherio was helping her young niece get dressed, she noticed many pieces of clothing were outgrown. Others were never worn, with price tags still on them.
Lynn thought: “What if these like-new and never-used things could find their way to children who really need them?”
Less than two years later in 2002, Lynn launched Cradles to Crayons in #Boston. Since our inception, we’ve grown in #Massachusetts & beyond: Greater #Philadelphia in 2006, #Chicagoland in 2016, & #NYC in 2020 through our innovative, national online donation platform, #GivingFactoryDirect.

Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive—at home, at school and at play. We supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities.
