Robert joined @cnni for a conversation about our Syerston Scandium Project and scandiumโs critical role in next-generation technologies, like fuel-cell power generation for data centers, advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defence applications. He explained that scandium is โa miracle material. It's critical to space technologies, satellites, telecommunications and lightweightingโฆ. Scandium turns aluminum into a super alloy and therefore is critical for the energy transition and more. So it's a really amazing metal; one of the most important metals you've probably never heard of.โ
Robert and Anchor @richardquest also discussed the danger of countriesโ current dependence on geopolitically volatile supply chains, and the need to build new projects for the metals that power the world economy. The U.S.$400 million conditional commitment loan we received from the @DeptofWar's Office of Strategic Capital is a promising demonstration of commitment to solve this issue.
โIn general, we have a balkanized world economy where every nation is beginning to worry about its own supply chain. As the integrated economy starts to break down into various groups, each group plays to its own strengths in a giant geopolitical chess game. And that's unfortunately the great game that the world finds itself in. Critical metals are absolutely at the center of this great game,โ Robert said. โAll nations will have to develop their own raw materials to the degree it's humanly possible or barter through international trade with friendly countries.
