Note the flawless #iambic #dimeter of the first two lines, which begins to disintegrate with the inversion in the second foot of the third line, then collapses with a mere #anapestic foot in the final line, a shift that punctuates the #poet's search for an easy answer to despair.

A #ChristianWiman poem that is more formal than it looks at first. Both stanzas are #dimeter, dimeter, #trimeter, #monometer. It's in #rhymed couplets too, with the rhymes more exact in the second stanza.
