Today is the 10th anniversary of Captain Matthew Roland sacrificing his life to save his comrades on 26 AUG 2015.
Four years ago today, 26 AUG 2021, our ground contacts whom we had been working with on #DigitalDunkirk successfully evacuated some of our Afghan allies. Thank you for looking over the men who saved them just before the suicide bomber attack blew Abbey Gate, Matthew, and keeping our guys safe. Those pictures were some of the last pictures of those heroic Marines before they lost their lives.
Our small group of outstanding people from all around the world, somehow by the grace of God and with a lot of luck, were able to give 35 of our friends another chance outside of Afghanistan.
It’s weighed heavy on these heroes that were on the ground that they couldn’t save everyone, but they gave some a chance when no one else would.

Many people don't know that people like Shawn and thousands of other Americans are working hard, three years later, to continue to honor our promises to Afghans. I'm grateful to each and everyone, and I couldn't have asked to serve alongside a better community of volunteers

The Afghan Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation and airlift out of Kabul began two years ago today. Over 100,000+ interpreters, their families, and other allies (SIV, P1, & P2) remain stranded in Afghanistan. Our work isn’t done and Congress needs to pass the #AfghanAdjustmentAct

@AliVelshi @JohnBrennan Meh. I don't think they did the best they could they were left w/ a horrible hand. I am a Biden voter but still mad more wasn't done starting 1/21/2021 to mitigate this and improve the SIV process... Also where is the #AfghanAdjustmentAct and acknowledgment of #DigitalDunkirk

One year later, American veterans and non-profit groups in the #DigitalDunkirk are still doing the work our goverment should have done. Our allies are dying all across the mountains of Afghanistan. And Blinken and Sullivan still have jobs and are enjoying the mountains of Aspen.
