A TESTIMONY BY A CHILD OF THE REVOLUTION: WHY I HAVE NOW JOINED THE EFF, AND WHY ALL SOUTH AFRICANS MUST VOTE FOR THE EFF
While I was yesterday doing door-to-door canvassing for the @EFFSouthAfrica at Helen Joseph Hospital in Auckland Park, I bumped into Mama Poswa. She was so happy to see me! She told me that she wanted to join the #EFF for a long time now, but that she did not exactly know how to go about it. I immediately gave her an EFF membership form, and she completed and signed it, and joined right there and then!
The significance of Mama Poswa now having joined the EFF, is that she had been a member of the ANC for her whole life. In fact she is a child of the liberation struggle. Her late father, Jeffrey Madoda Keye, was a liberation fighter who went for 23 years to Robben Island for his part in the liberation struggle. When her Dad was arrested and imprisoned in 1968, Mama Poswa was only 4 years old, and when he was released in 1991 she was already a 27 year old married woman with her own children. When her Dad passed on, only a year after his release from prison, Commander Chris Hani spoke at his funeral. Such were strong ties of her family with the ANC, and the huge sacrifices that she and her family made for the liberation of our country …
Yesterday Mama Poswa spoke to me with so much pain about how the ANC disappointed her, and broke her heart with their betrayal of the liberation struggle. She told me that if her father was still alive today, he would he resigned from the ANC and would also have joined the EFF.
Listen to her testimony in which she talks about how terribly betrayed she feels by the ANC, and why she feels that the EFF is our last hope to save South Africa, and to make sure that the ideals of the liberation struggle will ultimately be achieved. Mama Poswa explains with great conviction why she decided to join the EFF, and makes a very sincere clarion call on all South Africans to vote for the EFF in the upcoming election on the 29th of May 2024.
