I thought this would finally bring peace. It didn’t. At first, I was celebrated. People called me brave. Stunning. Valid. But privately, I was breaking down. My body didn’t feel real. My orgasms were gone. My energy dropped. And my mental health got worse — not better. I was praised for smiling while I was dying inside. I became suicidal. Tried to end it more than once. Because I realized I had altered my body forever, and it hadn’t fixed anything. In fact, it made everything worse. Then I met someone who saw me — the real me, behind the mask. She loved me, not the version of me I performed. In January 2023, I stopped pretending. I started detransitioning. I had my breast implants removed. I started testosterone again, because surgery made it impossible for my body to produce it. Now I live with the scars — emotional and physical. But I’m finally telling the truth. Transition didn’t save me. It nearly killed me. Detransition gave me back my life. I share this not to shame anyone. But to warn. To show the cost of silence. To say what no one said to me at 17: You are not broken. And you don’t need to erase yourself to be loved.
