Electricity supply was restored at 20:00 on 5 June 2026 to customers in Fourways and Witkoppen. However, we have identified that some customers remain without electricity supply.
Our technical teams are currently investigating the cause of the issue and working to restore supply to the affected customers. At this stage, an estimated time of restoration is not yet available. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The outage affecting customers in Fourways and Witkoppen is caused by a cable fault. The location of the fault has been identified, and jointers are on-site working on repairs and restoring supply. We anticipate that all work will be concluded and supply restored at 23:00.

While sectionalising the network and working to restore supply to the remaining affected customers in Douglasdale and Fourways, a transformer tripped, resulting in a loss of supply to Craigavon and Magaliessig.
Customers in Douglasdale and Fourways who were still without supply remain affected.
Our technicians are on site attending to the faults and the tripped transformer. The estimated time of restoration is still not available at this stage. Further updates will be provided as work progresses.

We have restored supply to some customers.
Our teams will now commence sectionalising the network to locate the remaining faults. During this process, customers may experience intermittent power supply (on and off switching). Customers are requested to treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during this period.

Following investigations, multiple faults have been identified, including a failed mini-substation, which are affecting supply to customers in Douglasdale and Fourways.
Our technicians are currently on site repairing the faults and preparing to replace the failed mini-substation.
Due to the extent of the work required, the estimated time of restoration is not available at this stage. Updates will be provided as work progresses.
