Thanks for the "like" - and for honoring Dave Taht - only true geeks will appreciate others similarly dedicated to public service. And this gives me a great Sunday rabbit hole to research the details of LibreQOS - I've followed these issues going back to before Limelight Networks was a thing.

I think I'm going to surprise everybody by saying that I think it's okay to abandon gigabit speed for residential as a goal. I'm a heavy Internet user, and have been since before most people knew the Internet was a thing. I remember what it was like to be constantly irritated because my last mile was too slow. But the last time I remember feeling that way was more than a decade ago. I was one of the first people to get optical fiber to my house back around 2002 (benefits of living in a good neighborhood in a wealthy East Coast county) and ever since then I can't say I've felt a pinch. I'd say 15 Mps down and 5Mps up is enough for almost anybody. Even me, and I do a lot more uploading than most. So yeah, gigabit sounds sexy, but it's way overkill.
