@domdyer70 Spain can fuck off. How about the Galgos? How about the Podencos? Spain opened the doors to hell for ALL hunting dogs & even for all kind of service dogs. No need to talk about bull fighting, etc.

It’s the end of the hunting season in Spain. Thousands of Galgo’s will be abandoned, shot, hung from trees, thrown down wells and other horrendous acts of cruelty because they are no longer wanted. Spain, you should be ashamed. #Betheirvoice
Today the hunting season ends 🇪🇸 and thousands will die or be dumped. I stand with the rescuers 🙌🏻

💔 The Shadow Over the Spanish Galgo
Today, February 1st, marks World Galgo Day (Día del Galgo). But for thousands of these elegant, soulful "long dogs," this isn’t a day of celebration—it is the start of a fight for survival.
In Spain, the end of the hunting season on February 1st traditionally marks the moment when Galgos are deemed "useless" by hunters. What follows is a tragedy that many choose to look away from:
Mass Abandonment: Thousands of dogs are discarded, left to fend for themselves in the wilderness or on busy motorways.
Systemic Cruelty: Many face brutal ends, like the "piano dance" depicted in the haunting silhouette of this tree—a grim tradition that has no place in a modern world.
Legal Loopholes: Despite new animal welfare laws, hunting dogs are often excluded from the same protections as domestic pets.
🕊️ How You Can Help
We cannot change the past, but we can change the future for the ones still waiting in the dark.
Spread Awareness: Share this post to let the world know the truth behind the #WorldGalgoDay hashtag.
Support Rescues: Follow and donate to organizations like @GalgosdelSol who work tirelessly on the front lines.
Adopt/Foster: Galgos make incredible, "45mph couch potato" companions. Give a rescued hound the sofa they deserve.
Today, we raise our voices for those who cannot speak. Let’s bring them out of the shadows. #WorldGalgoDay #DiaDelGalgo #FreeTheGalgo #GalgoRescue #AnimalRights #EndTheHunt
