found, not lost
Candace Art Randle
Art Acrobat
Thereās something honest about what we throw away.
Not curated.
Not staged.
Not trying to impress anyone.
Justā¦ released.
Lately, Iāve been walking more. Not for exercise, but for noticing. And what I keep noticing is this: the world is full of objects that once had purpose, now sitting in quiet retirement.
Plastic trays.
Wires.
Fragments of systems that used to matter.
I started bringing them home.
Not to fix them.
Not to reuse them in the traditional sense.
But to listen.
FOUND I, II, III
These three works came from that listening.
They are not about recycling.
They are about recognition.
Each piece holds what remains after function leaves the room. A kind of afterlife. A soft archive of usefulness, beauty, and the moment something stops being neededābut doesnāt stop existing.
Found I ā the beginning. the first permission to see value where there āshouldnātā be any.
Found II ā pattern. repetition. the quiet rhythm of systems breaking down.
Found III ā containment. the body, the machine, and the aesthetic meeting in stillness.
Each piece is $162, and 50% of proceeds support The Scrap Exchange in Durham, NCābecause if weāre going to talk about waste, we should also invest in transformation.
This is for you ifā¦
youāre in a season where something you built, held, or relied on is changing shape.
or ending.
or asking to be seen differently.
Hereās the idea thatās been sitting with me:
Weāve been taught to measure value by function.
What it does.
How it performs.
What it produces.
But what if value doesnāt disappear when function does?
What if it justā¦ changes posture?
Maybe nothing here is lost.
Justā¦ found differently.

My Organism sculpture post yesterday was such a huge hit that I'll try to top it with a toilet tank lid. And a short Poem.
