That's really a shame, because I'm old enough to remember when the #SEO community on #GooglePlus¹ was forever sharing information and doing educational hangouts to try and gain a better understanding of how #Google works.
Back then Google was also more interactive, with high-profile Googlers like Jonathan Simon regularly running infor sessions and workshops.
That particular mindset seems to have died with the Google+ platform itself.
Nowadays most #SEOs seem to surround themselves with a pseudo-mystique, like they're some cut-rate wizard possessing arcane knowledge. And consequently they mostly guard their "secrets" like jealous hens.
Now that you've mentioned it, it's high time to bring back that element of openness we used to have among SEOs, and start a weekly, or maybe monthly workshop to share our findings with each other and anyone who's interested in learning more about SEO and the inner workings and fuckery of Google.
